Message Why are you questioning me in a seemingly accusational manner? I dont mind answering questions, but the apparent tone of your question leads me to believe that you are trying to dig at something. Excuse me if I am wrong here - it is somewhat difficult to weed through attacks vs. sincere questions on this forum, and I'm sure you are aware of how some members can be.

A: Although we were seeing an issue of some kind, I felt that the problem wasn't prohibiting me from at least constructing a solid pumpfuel tune so that Stacy could drive the car back to Savannah and take a shot at replacing the converter and testing it to see if the problem was corrected. This way, he wouldn't have to bring the car all the way back down to me to put it back on the dyno and get a final tune put together for it.

The car was achieving stable boost levels and was showing all signs that there wasn't anything going wrong within the engine. There may still be a chance that the torque converter isn't the issue, which would lead me to suspecting the transmission. There is a possibility that once the problem is taken care of, it may still need further program refinement, but based on my experience with these cars and what I was seeing in his, I am confident that the car will need no further tuning. The issue will need to be further diagnosed and whatever the problem is will need to be corrected. Once this is done, the car will need to go back to a dyno local to him to make a few pulls to verify that everything is good to go. Once that has been done, we can go from there and do whatever is necessary.

For the short answer: I wanted to ensure that the tune was where it needed to be and try and spare Stacy some time at my own expense. FWIW, I drove back two days early from my holiday to take care of Stacy's car - he and his wife drove down to Canaveral for a cruise and my place was along the way. It was more convenient for him, at my expense, and I did the best I could with what I had to work with. Hopefully he can get the issue resolved easily as I know his patience with this project has been wearing thin.
